The mother deserves to be held, too.

Mother holds baby.
Apapacho holds mother.

Apapacho refers to tender loving care.

When a baby is born, a mother, and a family, are born as well. I offer warm, culturally rooted care for this sacred threshold.

Presence · Care · Ancestral memory

Birth is not the end of the childbearing journey. Postpartum is its completion.

This time deserves as much forethought, tenderness, and care as pregnancy and birth.

The postpartum passage

Rooting. Emerging. Blossoming.

Motherhood does not begin in a single moment. Like all living things, it takes root, emerges, and gradually blossoms.

01

Rooting

Before birth, we prepare the ground. We consider not only how your baby will be born, but how you will be cared for afterward.

Who will nourish you, protect your rest, listen, and tend the home while you tend to your baby? We gather what is needed so you can surrender to the experience rather than manage everything around it.

02

Emerging

Birth is a crossing. A baby emerges into the world, and a mother emerges with them.

Whether birth unfolds as imagined or takes an unexpected path, this profound physical and emotional passage deserves to be witnessed, honored, and held with tenderness.

03

Blossoming

Then comes the slow opening. The first forty days are not about returning to who you were before.

They invite you to rest, recover, receive nourishment, discover your baby, and meet the mother emerging within you. Blossoming cannot be hurried.

We create the circle around the mother

The village can sometimes feel elusive. So we begin weaving it again.

Our care draws inspiration from traditions that have understood this for generations: warmth, nourishing food, rest, touch, ritual, companionship, and continuity of care.

The purpose is not to tell a mother what she needs. It is to create enough support and quiet that she can hear herself again.

  • A warm meal prepared for you.
  • A rebozo wrapped around a tired body.
  • Hands that offer comfort.
  • Someone who listens without trying to fix.
  • A home made quieter.
  • A mother given permission to rest.
“You have crossed a threshold. We see you. You deserve to be cared for while you learn to care for your baby.”

For the people who love her

Care for the circle that cares for her.

The rhythms of contemporary life can make it difficult to sustain a new mother with the rest, nourishment, and presence she deserves and needs. You may want to help and not know where to begin—or you may be carrying more than one person can hold.

Apapachamama is the support system’s support: practical, nourishing care that helps partners, relatives, and friends surround a beloved new mother without having to do it all alone.

My perspective

Working with the elements

I understand postpartum as a physical, emotional, and spiritual transition. The elements offer a simple language for noticing what is needed: grounding, flow, warmth, breath, and loving presence.

This holistic care complements — and does not replace — your medical care.
